I am going to Nova Scotia !

~~~~
I am going to Nova Scotia (Eastern Canada) this Friday July 25th to visit my Mom on her 65th Birthday. I will be staying until next Thursday July 31st. My husband only gets one week of vacation time this summer so I am flying out East with the help of hubby's air miles (isn't he sweet!). It is too far to drive (2 day trip each way) for a 5 day visit. My daughter has a babysitting job next week, my son will be in Sports Camp with a friend, hubby will be at work and the poor dog will be in the kennel (sorry Cider). We will all have a week off together the first week of August.
My Mom and her husband retired in Nova Scotia approximately 10 years ago. They live on a lovely point with a spectacular view of a salt marsh and the ocean off in the distance. What a lovely picture for a birthday invitation.
It is beautiful all year round.
Wouldn't it be nice to have this view from your deck!
This is their house from the back.
Lovely large windows to enjoy the view.
The home is an 1800s farm house that took several years to restore.
The wrought iron gate is new this year.
There are so many talented Artisans in Nova Scotia.
I just love the iron seagulls! It is fun to watch the cats stalk them.
This is Ben, one of my Mom's cats. Not too much hunting in this picture LOL
I am looking forward to my visit with my mom ~ Ontario and Nova Scotia are quite far apart so we only get to see each other once or twice a year.
We will do lots of antique hunting and walks along the beach. Sounds pretty good I think!
This is my 96th post !!! I will buy something wonderful from Nova Scotia
for my 100th Post Giveaway, when I get back :-)
Hi Karen,
Sorry I can't go with you - it certainly would have been fun. Love what Sue and Dan have done with the landscaping and Ben sure seems to be enjoying the yard. Wish your mum a happy birthday for me.
Karen, I wish you safe and happy travels. My father lived in Nova Scotia for a few years.... it is a lovely place. Your post prior reminded me of the church downtown Halifax where a minister was killed in the great explosion. His profile is visible in the pain of the upper window. No matter how many times the glass is replaced the image returns..... Nova Scotia is a wonderful place for spooky stories and folklore!
Oh Karen,
You lucky girl. I have so many wonderful memories of my visit to New Bruinswick. I love to go there and collect pottery shards from the sea, it is the best collecting I ever found. Have a wonderful time. It looks so beautiful.
Safe trip!
