Hey . . . that's my dog

I had the pleasure of working at a 3 day Estate sale in Ottawa, Ontario this weekend. It started on Friday at noon and finished Sunday afternoon. A few posts ago I shared some pictures of the wonderful treasures in this home. The owner was an avid art collector who adored animals ~ birds and dogs in particular. When I saw this painting I immediately thought of my own dog.

Cider is facing the other way in this picture . . . but you get the idea.

I don't think she really appreciates her likeness . . . but I do.

My mom bought me the painting for my Christmas present (she lives in Nova Scotia so I actually had to be Santa for today). Thanks Mom! I guess I am suppose to wrap it up and wait until December 25th. I think I will hang it up first and then wrap it on the 24th, LOL.

Hi Karen,
No, no, no - you know that Nanny would consider that cheating. You have no willpower - you must take after your dad LOL! Love the painting!

Hi Karen,

The painting is so neat and what a lovely Christmas present from your Mother.

It would be a dilemma... to have wrapped up under the tree or hanging on the wall!

You will enjoy whatever way you choose, as it looks so much like Cider.

Hugs
Carolyn

good morning Karen,
wrap up the painting in a bow and hang it up. Kill two birds with one stone. It is a grat likeness and very warm. To cover it seems wrong.

What an interesting painting. Really does remind me of Cider. I'm thinking poor Cider looks a little down in the tooth..."how dare she bring that dog in here!!"

It really is a wonderful pic...
Hugs, Nancy
PS..thanks for visiting and for your kind words.

That is a real likeness to Cider. Lovely gift from your Mum. I would be hanging it I think and not wrapping but I am pretty impatient :) Whatever you decide I am certain you will just love it.
