Friday Flea Market and Dress Form Party

~~~~
What a great blog party theme :-) Tiffany at Shabby Scraps is hosting the "Show me your Dress Form" Blog party. I decided to join in on the fun :-). This is my gal Victoria ~ named after the Victorian Era ~ as she is frequently dressed in 1800s clothing. I do dress her in Edwardian clothing too . . . but "Edward" didn't seem to suit her very well, LOL.
This lovely lady was purchased for only $5 at a local auction. I was thrilled to bring her home. My hubby thinks she will scare away our guests (she inhabits the Guest Bedroom). I think she is quite lovely in her Edwardian and Victorian whites.
My female friends understand her. Victoria was even mentioned recently in a Thank You card . . . so she can't be all that scary, LOL.
Today is also Friday Flea Market ~ My theme this week is Summer Whites ~ to give my Dress form a little more attention. My items this week can be found in my Etsy Shop . Photos are shown below.
~ A Stunning Edwardian Blouse with Irish Crochet and floral detail ~
A stunning Edwardian Tea Dress (too small for my size 10 Dress Form)
A close-up photo of the sleeve
A sweet little cotton camisole with delicate handmade lace
I also have a stunning crocheted bedspread ~ 72 inches square
and finally, a lovely Battenburg Lace Tablecloth ~ a generous 60 x 116 inches
Thank you for looking and thank you to our hostess Polly for hosting the weekly Friday Flea Market. FYI ~ I will be away for a few days, returning next Friday.
All items purchased this week will be mailed on August 8, 2008. Thank you for visiting and have a great week!
Karen...you are back! Glad to hear from you...hope you had a wonderful time away.
Your wonderful form looks divine in her summer whites. I am looking for a dress form as we speak. We are headed to BC soon and maybe we can find something there.
Yours is so nice...I hope to get that lucky!
Talk soon
Edward, lol!
What a pretty blog, I'm so happy I landed here!
Your dress form is great, but I'm really drooling over your period clothing. Looks like a lovely embroidered silk scarf.
Your lines and laces are TDF.
Best,
Nikki
Your blog is very lovely Karen and I enjoyed my visit.
Your beautiful, white dress and clothing is exquisite. I always marvel at the time and work that goes into all those old garments.
Thanks for the Etsy tip Karen, no sooner did I heed your advice and I had a sale from Australia!
That's great Jenn! I love my International Customers. The light items really aren't that expensive to mail overseas. I often wish I could hop in the envelope. I will visit Australia and New Zealand some day :)
